I'm installing an extension for the first time from source and assumed
that the sentence
> If you already have a published extension with the same name
installed, your dev extension will override it.
also means that it would override the already installed extension.
Besides that I've had to use `--foreground` mode to also get more
meaningful error messages under NixOS without using
`programs.nix-ld.enabled = true;`.

Follow up to https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/32422. Missed
this one in this latest round of MCP-related docs changes.

While creating a new MCP extension this weekend, I visited these pages
and it felt like they could be improved a little bit. I'm renaming the
MCP-related page under the /extension directory to use the "MCP"
acronym, instead of "context servers".

This PR fixes some broken links that where found using
[lychee](https://github.com/lycheeverse/lychee/) as discussed today with
@JosephTLyons and @nathansobo at the RustNL hackathon. Using
[lychee-action](https://github.com/lycheeverse/lychee-action/) we can
scan for broken links daily to prevent issues in the future.
There are still 6 broken links that I didn't know how to fix myself.
See https://github.com/thomas-zahner/zed/actions/runs/15075808232 for
details.
## Missing images
```
Errors in ./docs/src/channels.md
[ERROR] file:///home/runner/work/zed/zed/docs/.gitbook/assets/channels-3.png | Cannot find file
[ERROR] file:///home/runner/work/zed/zed/docs/.gitbook/assets/channels-1.png | Cannot find file
[ERROR] file:///home/runner/work/zed/zed/docs/.gitbook/assets/channels-2.png | Cannot find file
```
These errors are showing up as missing images on
https://zed.dev/docs/channels
I tried to search the git history to see when or why they were deleted
but didn't find anything.
## ./crates/assistant_tools/src/edit_agent/evals/fixtures/zode/prompt.md
There are three errors in that file. I don't fully understand how these
issues were caused historically. Technically it would be possible to
ignore the files but of course if possible we should address the issues.

Loading a local grammar could be useful if you're developing the
extension and the grammar in tandem, and a user pointed out that our
docs don't make it obvious that it's possible at all.

Closes#18581
Now characters for completing query and word characters, which are
responsible for selecting words by double clicking or navigating, are
different. This fixes a bunch of things:
For settings.json, this improves completions to treat the whole string
as a completion query, instead of just the last word. We now added
"space" as a completion query character without it being a word
character.
For keymap.json, this improves selecting part of an action as the ":"
character is only a completion character and not a word character. So,
completions would still trigger on ":" and query capture will treat ":"
as a word, but for actions like selections and navigation, ":" will be
treated as punctuation.
Before:
Unnecessary related suggestions as query is only the last word which is
"d".

Double clicking `ToggleFold` selects the whole action:

/>
After:
Now query is "one d" and it shows only matched ones.

/>
Double clicking `ToggleFold` only selects part of the action, which is
more refined behavior.

Release Notes:
- Improved autocomplete suggestions in `settings.json`, now whole string
is queried instead of just last word of string, which filters out lot of
false positives.
- Improved selection of action in `keymap.json`, where now you can
double click to only select certain part of action, instead of selecting
whole action.

Just tried installing a dev extension and kept getting "error: failed to install dev extension".
Turns out this was because I had rust installed via homebrew and not rust. Once I switched to rustup, it worked perfectly fine.

- vim: Added motions `[[`, `[]`, `]]`, `][` for navigating by section,
`[m`, `]m`, `[M`, `]M` for navigating by method, and `[*`, `]*`, `[/`,
`]/` for comments. These currently only work for languages built in to
Zed, as they are powered by new tree-sitter queries.

`if`,`af` for functions/methods, and `g c` for comments. These currently

Clarify that rustup is required to build developer extensions. Developer
extensions fail silently to the logs because rustup isn't found, even
when rust is installed.

so that we can have them all in one place.

This PR removes the `tooltip_text` field from
`SlashCommandManifestEntry`s.
The `tooltip_text` is currently only used to set the `menu_text` on a
slash command, which is only used for featured slash commands.
Since slash commands from extensions are not currently able to be
featured, we don't need extension authors to provide this field in the
manifest.
This is a backwards-compatible change.
