Fix a bug where a GPUI macro still used `ModelContext`
Rename `AsyncAppContext` -> `AsyncApp`
Rename update_model, read_model, insert_model, and reserve_model to
update_entity, read_entity, insert_entity, and reserve_entity

There's still a bit more work to do on this, but this PR is compiling
(with warnings) after eliminating the key types. When the tasks below
are complete, this will be the new narrative for GPUI:
- `Entity<T>` - This replaces `View<T>`/`Model<T>`. It represents a unit
of state, and if `T` implements `Render`, then `Entity<T>` implements
`Element`.
- `&mut App` This replaces `AppContext` and represents the app.
- `&mut Context<T>` This replaces `ModelContext` and derefs to `App`. It
is provided by the framework when updating an entity.
- `&mut Window` Broken out of `&mut WindowContext` which no longer
exists. Every method that once took `&mut WindowContext` now takes `&mut
Window, &mut App` and every method that took `&mut ViewContext<T>` now
takes `&mut Window, &mut Context<T>`
Not pictured here are the two other failed attempts. It's been quite a
month!
Tasks:
- [x] Remove `View`, `ViewContext`, `WindowContext` and thread through
`Window`
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Redraw window when entities change
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Get examples and Zed running
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Fix Zed rendering
- [x] [@mikayla-maki] Fix todo! macros and comments
- [x] Fix a bug where the editor would not be redrawn because of view
caching
- [x] remove publicness window.notify() and replace with
`AppContext::notify`
- [x] remove `observe_new_window_models`, replace with
`observe_new_models` with an optional window
- [x] Fix a bug where the project panel would not be redrawn because of
the wrong refresh() call being used
- [x] Fix the tests
- [x] Fix warnings by eliminating `Window` params or using `_`
- [x] Fix conflicts
- [x] Simplify generic code where possible
- [x] Rename types
- [ ] Update docs
### issues post merge
- [x] Issues switching between normal and insert mode
- [x] Assistant re-rendering failure
- [x] Vim test failures
- [x] Mac build issue

When displaying the number of matches in the branch picker during a
search, don't count the "create new branch" option as a match, since it
only appears when _no_ existing branches are found.

- Adds the Switch component
- Updates `Selected`, `Selectable` -> `ToggleState`, `Toggleable`
- Adds `checkbox` and `switch` functions to align better with other
elements in our layout system.
We decided not to merge Switch and Checkbox. However, in a followup I'll
introduce a Toggle or AnyToggle enum so we can update
`CheckboxWithLabel` -> `ToggleWithLabel` as this component will work
exactly the same with either a Checkbox or a Switch.

This PR streamlines the branch creation from the branch selector when
searching for a branch that does not exist.
The branch selector will show the available branches, as it does today:
<img width="576" alt="Screenshot 2024-10-03 at 4 01 25 PM"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/e1904f5b-4aad-4f88-901d-ab9422ec18bb">
When entering the name of a branch that does not exist, the picker will
be populated with an entry to create a new branch:
<img width="570" alt="Screenshot 2024-10-03 at 4 01 37 PM"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/07f8d12c-9422-4fd8-a6dc-ae450e297a13">
Selecting that entry will create the branch and switch to it.
Release Notes:
- Streamlined creating a new branch from the branch selector.
This PR adds margin style methods to the `Label` and `LabelLike`
components.
This allows for callers to provide a margin to these components without
needing to introduce a wrapping `div` to do so.

This commit also removes a bunch of dead code.
Fixes#12544
Release Notes:
- Removed branch popover menu - clicking on the branch name in left-hand
corner now always opens a branch modal
Previously, each git `Repository` object was held inside of a mutex.
This was needed because libgit2's Repository object is (as one would
expect) not thread safe. But now, the two longest-running git operations
that Zed performs, (`status` and `blame`) do not use libgit2 - they
invoke the `git` executable. For these operations, it's not necessary to
hold a lock on the repository.
In this PR, I've moved our mutex usage so that it only wraps the libgit2
calls, not our `git` subprocess spawns. The main user-facing impact of
this is that the UI is much more responsive when initially opening a
project with a very large git repository (e.g. `chromium`, `webkit`,
`linux`).
Release Notes:
- Improved Zed's responsiveness when initially opening a project
containing a very large git repository.
I ran into this when trying to get #11550 working: the VCS menu would
open repositories on its owned, based on paths, instead of going through
the worktree on which we already store the git repositories.

This PR reworks the way workspace notifications are identified to use a
new `NotificationId` type.
A `NotificationId` is bound to a given type that is used as a unique
identifier. Generally this will be a unit struct that can be used to
uniquely identify this notification.
A `NotificationId` can also accept an optional `ElementId` in order to
distinguish between different notifications of the same type.
This system avoids the issue we had previously of selecting `usize` IDs
somewhat arbitrarily and running the risk of having two independent
notifications collide (and thus interfere with each other).
This also fixes a bug where multiple suggestion notifications for the
same extension could be live at once

This PR moves the Clippy configuration up to the workspace level.
We're using the [`lints`
table](https://doc.rust-lang.org/cargo/reference/workspaces.html#the-lints-table)
to configure the Clippy ruleset in the workspace's `Cargo.toml`.
Each crate in the workspace now has the following in their own
`Cargo.toml` to inherit the lints from the workspace:
```toml
[lints]
workspace = true
```
This allows for configuring rust-analyzer to show Clippy lints in the
editor by using the following configuration in your Zed `settings.json`:
```json
{
"lsp": {
"rust-analyzer": {
"initialization_options": {
"check": {
"command": "clippy"
}
}
}
}
```

This PR renames the `h_stack` and `v_stack` to `h_flex` and `v_flex`,
respectively.
We were previously using `h_stack` and `v_stack` to match SwiftUI, but
`h_flex` and `v_flex` fit better with the web/flexbox terminology that
the rest of GPUI uses.
Additionally, we were already calling the utility functions used to
implement `h_stack` and `v_stack` by the new names.
