This PR removes the `/docs` slash command.
We never fully shipped this—with it requiring explicit opt-in via a
setting—and it doesn't seem like the feature is needed in an agentic
world.

1. Extension loaded events are now condensed into a single event with a
Vec of (extension_id, extension_version) called id_and_versions.
2. Editor Saved & AutoSaved are merged into a singular event with a type
field that is either "manual" or "autosave”.

4. Editor Closed event is fired when an editor item (tab) is removed
from a pane

Fixes an issue that caused Windows to fail when removing extension's
directories, as Zed had never stop any related processes.
Now:
* Zed shuts down and waits until the end when the language servers are
shut down
* Adds `impl Drop for WasmExtension` where does
`self.tx.close_channel();` to stop a receiver loop that holds the "lock"
on the extension's work dir.
The extension was dropped, but the channel was not closed for some
reason.
* Does more unregistration to ensure `Arc<WasmExtension>` with the `tx`
does not leak further
* Tidies up the related errors which had never reported a problematic
path before

Adds a new `documentation` method to actions, that is extracted from doc
comments when using the `actions!` or derive macros.
Additionally, this PR adds doc comments to as many action definitions in
Zed as possible.

This PR fixes an issue where reconnecting to SSH Remote would result in
a broken language server.
This was caused by SSH clients not registering because the `ssh_clients`
map would still contain an entry from a previously killed SSH server.
For fix, now we also check if its value has been dropped.

https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/30972 brought up another
case where our context is not enough to track the actual source of the
issue: we get a general top-level error without inner error.
The reason for this was `.ok_or_else(|| anyhow!("failed to read HEAD
SHA"))?; ` on the top level.
The PR finally reworks the way we use anyhow to reduce such issues (or
at least make it simpler to bubble them up later in a fix).
On top of that, uses a few more anyhow methods for better readability.
* `.ok_or_else(|| anyhow!("..."))`, `map_err` and other similar error
conversion/option reporting cases are replaced with `context` and
`with_context` calls
* in addition to that, various `anyhow!("failed to do ...")` are
stripped with `.context("Doing ...")` messages instead to remove the
parasitic `failed to` text
* `anyhow::ensure!` is used instead of `if ... { return Err(...); }`
calls
* `anyhow::bail!` is used instead of `return Err(anyhow!(...));`

Because we instantiated `ContextServerManager` both in `agent` and
`assistant-context-editor`, and these two entities track the running MCP
servers separately, we were effectively running every MCP server twice.
This PR moves the `ContextServerManager` into the project crate (now
called `ContextServerStore`). The store can be accessed via a project
instance. This ensures that we only instantiate one `ContextServerStore`
per project.
Also, this PR adds a bunch of tests to ensure that the
`ContextServerStore` behaves correctly (Previously there were none).

When calling `uninstall_extension`, the `work_dir` associated with this
`extension` doesn't have its corresponding `FileHandle` properly closed,
preventing the deletion of the `work_dir`. As seen in the image below,
after installing the `toml` extension, `zed.exe` holds two `Handle`s for
the folder `C:\Users\36477\AppData\Local\Zed\extensions\work\toml`.
Therefore, after deleting `extension_dir` and then calling
`this.update(...)`, `zed.exe` releases these two `Handles`, and only
then can the folder
`C:\Users\36477\AppData\Local\Zed\extensions\work\toml` be deleted. See
the corresponding file handles are closed after calling
`this.update(...)`:
However, if there is a running server of the extension, the error will
persist. At this point, I haven’t found a direct way to terminate all
running servers of the extension. Since this feature might affect the
`LspStore` structure, I paused my work here.
See when `toml` extension is running, we can not delete
`C:\Users\36477\AppData\Local\Zed\extensions\work\toml` since
`C:\Users\36477\AppData\Local\Zed\extensions\work\toml\taplo.exe` is
still running:

Because of #26562, it is now possible to subscribe to extension update
events within the LSP store, where we can then update the Schemas sent
to the JSON LSP resulting in dynamic updates to the auto-complete
suggestions and diagnostics in settings. Notably, this means newly
installed languages and (icon) themes will auto-complete correctly as
soon as the extension is installed.

listen for extension-related events throughout the app.

This PR adds eager loading of the active theme and icon theme set in the
user settings.
Previously for themes and icon themes that were provided by extensions,
we would have to wait until extensions were loaded before we could apply
the themes.
In some cases this could lead to a visible delay during which time the
user would see the default themes, and then switch to their desired
themes once extensions had loaded.
To avoid this, we now take a fast path of loading the active themes
directly from the filesystem so that we can load them as soon as
possible.
Closes#10173 and #25305.

This PR makes it so we don't log errors for missing themes or icon
themes until after the extensions have been loaded.
Currently, if you are using a theme that is defined in an extension it
is common to see one or more "theme not found" errors in the logs. This
is the result of us having to initialize the theme before the extensions
have actually finished loading.
This means that a theme that _may_ exist once extensions load is
considered non-existent before they have loaded.
To that end, we now wait until the extensions have loaded before we
start logging errors if we can't find the theme or icon theme.

This PR makes progress on #7711 by identifying any common prefix of the
paths in the file finder's search results, and replacing the "interior"
of that prefix---every path segment but the first and last---with `...`,
when a heuristic indicates that the longest path would otherwise
overflow the modal.
The elision is not applied to any segment that contains a match for the
search query.
There may be more work to do on #7711 in the case of long result paths
that do not share a significant common prefix.

This PR implements icon theme reload to ensure file icons are properly
updated whenever an icon theme extension is upgraded or uninstalled.
Currently, on both upgrade and uninstall of an icon theme extension the
file icons from the previously installed version will stay visibile and
will not be updated as shown in the linked issue. With this change, file
icons will properly be updated on extension upgrade or reinstall.
The code is primarily a copy for reloading the current color theme
adapted to work for icon themes. Happy for any feedback!

(with warnings) after eliminating the key types. When the tasks below
are complete, this will be the new narrative for GPUI:
- `Entity<T>` - This replaces `View<T>`/`Model<T>`. It represents a unit
of state, and if `T` implements `Render`, then `Entity<T>` implements
`Element`.
- `&mut App` This replaces `AppContext` and represents the app.
- `&mut Context<T>` This replaces `ModelContext` and derefs to `App`. It
is provided by the framework when updating an entity.
- `&mut Window` Broken out of `&mut WindowContext` which no longer
exists. Every method that once took `&mut WindowContext` now takes `&mut
Window, &mut App` and every method that took `&mut ViewContext<T>` now
takes `&mut Window, &mut Context<T>`

themes defined by extensions.

This PR fixes an issue where dev extensions were not working when
uploaded to the remote server.
The `extension.toml` for dev extensions may not contain all of the
information (such as the list of languages), as this is something that
we derive from the filesystem at packaging time. This meant that
uploading a dev extension that contained languages could have them
absent from the uploaded `extension.toml`.
For dev extensions we now upload a serialized version of the in-memory
extension manifest, which should have all of the information present.

This is a first attempt to show the language icons to the selector.
Ideally, I wouldn't like to have yet another place mapping extensions to
icons, as we already have the `file_types.json` file doing that, but I'm
not so sure how to pull from it yet. Maybe in a future pass we'll
improve this and make it more solid.

This PR overhauls extension registration in order to make it more
modular.
The `extension` crate now contains an `ExtensionHostProxy` that can be
used to register various proxies that the extension host can use to
interact with the rest of the system.
There are now a number of different proxy traits representing the
various pieces of functionality that can be provided by an extension.
The respective crates that provide this functionality can implement
their corresponding proxy trait in order to register a proxy that the
extension host will use to register the bits of functionality provided
by the extension.
