Consolidate Assistant panels in assistant2 feature flag (#23442)
This PR consolidates the two Assistant panels into one for users in the
`assistant2` feature flag.

Now that the Assistant1 prompt editor is accessible through the
Assistant2 panel, we no longer have a need to show both panels.

terminal: Fix unresponsive buttons on load until center pane is clicked + Auto-focus docked terminal on load if no other item is focused (#23039)
Closes #23006

This PR should have been split into two, but since the changes are
related, I merged them into one.

1. On load, the title bar actions and bottom bar toggles are
unresponsive until the center pane is clicked. This happens because the
terminal captures focus (even if it's closed) long after the workspace
sets focus to itself during loading.

The issue was in the `focus_view` call used in the `new` method of
`TerminalPanel`. Since new terminal views can be created behind the
scenes (i.e., without the terminal being visible to the user), we
shouldn't handle focus for the terminal in this case. Removing
`focus_view` from the `new` method has no impact on the existing
terminal focusing logic. I've tested scenarios such as creating new
terminals, splitting terminals, zooming, etc., and everything works as
expected.

2. Currently, on load, docked terminals do not automatically focus when
they are only visible item to the user. This PR implements it.

Before/After:

1. When only the dock terminal is visible on load. Terminal is focused.

2. When other items are visible along with the dock terminal on load.
Editor is focused.

alt="image" height="280px" />

3. Multiple tabs along with split panes. Last terminal is focused.

Future:

When a docked terminal is in a zoomed state and Zed is loaded, we should
prioritize focusing on the terminal over the active item (e.g., an
editor) behind it. This hasn't been implemented in this PR because the
zoomed state during the load function is stale. The correct state is
received later via the workspace. I'm still investigating where exactly
this should be handled, so this will be a separate PR.

Release Notes:

- Fixed unresponsive buttons on load until the center pane is clicked.
- Added auto-focus for the docked terminal on load when no other item is
focused.

Do not try to activate the terminal panel twice (#23029)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/23023

Fixes terminal pane button opening two terminals on click.

The culprit is in

61115bd047/crates/workspace/src/workspace.rs (L2412-L2417)

* We cannot get any panel by index from the Dock, only an active one
* Both `dock.activate_panel(panel_index, cx);` and `dock.set_open(true,
cx);` do `active_panel.panel.set_active(true, cx);`

So, follow other pane's impls that have `active: bool` property for this
case, e.g.
3ec52d8451/crates/assistant/src/inline_assistant.rs (L2687)

Fix Project strong reference leaks (#22470)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/21906

* After https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/21238,
`TerminalPanel` and `Project` strong references were moved into
`Pane`-related closures, creating a cycle, that did not allow
registering project release and shutting down corresponding language
servers

* After https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/22329, a special
`Editor` was created with a strong reference to the `Project` which
seemed to do nothing bad in general, but when a working Zed was running
a Zed Dev build, had the same issue with preventing language servers
from shutting down.

The latter is very odd, and seems quite dangerous, as any arbitrary
`Editor` with `Project` in it may do the same, yet it seems that we did
not store them before the way git panel does.

I have tried creating a test, yet seems that we need to initialize a lot
of Zed for it which I failed — all my attempts resulted in a single
language server being present in the `Project`'s statuses.

![it_splits](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/40de03c9-2173-4441-ba96-8e91537956e0)

Applies the same splitting mechanism, as Zed's central pane has, to the
terminal panel.
Similar navigation, splitting and (de)serialization capabilities are
supported.

Notable caveats:
* zooming keeps the terminal splits' ratio, rather expanding the
terminal pane
* on macOs, central panel is split with `cmd-k up/down/etc.` but `cmd-k`
is a "standard" terminal clearing keybinding on macOS, so terminal panel
splitting is done via `ctrl-k up/down/etc.`
* task terminals are "split" into regular terminals, and also not
persisted (same as currently in the terminal)

Seems ok for the initial version, we can revisit and polish things
later.

- Added the ability to split the terminal panel

Improve Linux terminal keymap and context menu (#16845)
Follow-up https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/16085 that fixes
the search deploy to be actually a part of the terminal-related

Part of https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/16839

Also

* fixes few other bindings to use `shift` and avoid conflicts with the
existing key bindings.
* adds terminal inline assist to the context menu and makes both the
menu and the button to dynamically adjust to `assist.enabled` settings
change

It is still unclear to me, why certain labels for certain bindings are
wrong (it's still showing `ctrl-w` for closing the terminal tab, and
`shift-insert` instead of `ctrl-shift-v` for Paste, while Insert is near
and has a `ctrl-shift-c` binding shown) but at least the keys work now.

Send pane removeItem event before removing the item (#15541)
This PR renames and added a new pane event to indicate the difference
between `removing` and `removed` event. This change is needed for the
debugger implementation, if you close a pane we have to send a
`terminateThread` request to the adapter because it's not supported to
reopen a pane. So when the pane is removing we have to know what thread
it is what is stored on the panel itself, so we have to be able to get
this information before the pane is actually removed.

So my idea how to fix this was by adding a new event called
`RemovedItem` which is a rename of `RemoveItem` which also makes a bit
more sense because the item is removed at that point. And seeing the
name `RemoveItem` does not really say that it's removed, more like we
are removing the item.

tab_switcher: Add support for tab switcher in assistant panel (#15475)
Additionally, I've generalized the implementation of tab switcher so
that - instead of explicitly listing panels it supports (at the time of
writing it was just the terminal panel and nothing else), it now relies
on Panel::pane trait method. As long as that's implemented, you get a
tab switcher support for free.

Release Notes:

- Added support for tab switcher in Assistant panel.

SSH remoting: terminal & tasks (#15321)
This also rolls back the `TerminalWorkDir` abstraction I added for the
original remoting, and tidies up the terminal creation code to be clear
about whether we're creating a task *or* a terminal. The previous logic
was a little muddy because it assumed we could be doing both at the same
time (which was not true).

Release Notes:

- remoting alpha: Removed the ability to specify `gh cs ssh` or `gcloud
compute ssh` etc. See https://zed.dev/docs/remote-development for
alternatives.
- remoting alpha: Added support for terminal and tasks to new
experimental ssh remoting

Restore unsaved buffers on restart (#13546)
This adds the ability for Zed to restore unsaved buffers on restart. The
user is no longer prompted to save/discard/cancel when trying to close a
Zed window with dirty buffers in it. Instead those dirty buffers are
stored and restored on restart.

It does this by saving the contents of dirty buffers to the internal
SQLite database in which Zed stores other data too. On restart, if there
are dirty buffers in the database, they are restored.

On certain events (buffer changed, file saved, ...) Zed will serialize
these buffers, throttled to a 100ms, so that we don't overload the
machine by saving on every keystroke. When Zed quits, it waits until all
the buffers are serialized.

### Current limitations
- It does not persist undo-history (right now we don't persist/restore
undo-history regardless of dirty buffers or not)
- It does not restore buffers in windows without projects/worktrees.
Example: if you open a new window with `cmd-shift-n` and type something
in a buffer, this will _not_ be stored and you will be asked whether to
save/discard on quit. In the future, we want to fix this by also
restoring windows without projects/worktrees.

### Related tickets

I'm unsure about closing them, without also fixing the 2nd limitation:
restoring of worktree-less windows. So let's wait until that.

### Note on performance

- Serializing editing buffer (asynchronously on background thread) with
500k lines takes ~200ms on M3 Max. That's an extreme case and that
performance seems acceptable.

Release Notes:

- Added automatic restoring of unsaved buffers. Zed can now be closed
even if there are unsaved changes in buffers. One current limitation is
that this only works when having projects open, not single files or
empty windows with unsaved buffers. The feature can be turned off by
setting `{"session": {"restore_unsaved_buffers": false}}`.
