vim: Add keybindings for resizing docks (#23874)
Closes #23334

This does not follow the exact way that windows are resized in vim.
Normally the command is `ctrl-w >` however this PR uses just `ctrl->`.
This is because I could not find a good way to read in a count like `10
ctrl-w ctrl->`. This is not really a problem since `ctrl->` can be held
down, which, in my opinion, speeds up resizing. I think this is a good
compromise since it improves usability; however, I am concerned that
this is not intuitive. I am looking forward to feedback.

Release Notes:

- Added the following commands
  - vim::ResizeLeftDock
  - vim::ResizeRightDock
  - vim::ResizeBottomDock
- Added keybinds
  - `ctrl->` for widening left dock
  - `ctrl-<` for narrowing left dock

Eliminate GPUI View, ViewContext, and WindowContext types (#22632)
There's still a bit more work to do on this, but this PR is compiling
(with warnings) after eliminating the key types. When the tasks below
are complete, this will be the new narrative for GPUI:

- `Entity<T>` - This replaces `View<T>`/`Model<T>`. It represents a unit
of state, and if `T` implements `Render`, then `Entity<T>` implements
`Element`.
- `&mut App` This replaces `AppContext` and represents the app.
- `&mut Context<T>` This replaces `ModelContext` and derefs to `App`. It
is provided by the framework when updating an entity.
- `&mut Window` Broken out of `&mut WindowContext` which no longer
exists. Every method that once took `&mut WindowContext` now takes `&mut
Window, &mut App` and every method that took `&mut ViewContext<T>` now
takes `&mut Window, &mut Context<T>`

Not pictured here are the two other failed attempts. It's been quite a
month!

Tasks:

- [x] Remove `View`, `ViewContext`, `WindowContext` and thread through
`Window`
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Redraw window when entities change
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Get examples and Zed running
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Fix Zed rendering
- [x] [@mikayla-maki] Fix todo! macros and comments
- [x] Fix a bug where the editor would not be redrawn because of view
caching
- [x] remove publicness window.notify() and replace with
`AppContext::notify`
- [x] remove `observe_new_window_models`, replace with
`observe_new_models` with an optional window
- [x] Fix a bug where the project panel would not be redrawn because of
the wrong refresh() call being used
- [x] Fix the tests
- [x] Fix warnings by eliminating `Window` params or using `_`
- [x] Fix conflicts
- [x] Simplify generic code where possible
- [x] Rename types
- [ ] Update docs

### issues post merge

- [x] Issues switching between normal and insert mode
- [x] Assistant re-rendering failure
- [x] Vim test failures
- [x] Mac build issue

Improve keymap json schema (#23044)
Also:

* Adds `impl_internal_actions!` for deriving the `Action` trait without

* Removes some deserializers that immediately fail in favor of
`#[serde(skip)]` on fields where they were used. This also omits them
from the schema.

Release Notes:

- Keymap settings file now has more JSON schema information to inform
`json-language-server` completions and info, particularly for actions

vim: Add sneak motion (#22793)
A (re)continuation of https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/21067.

This takes the original implementation in
https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/15572 and adds the test in
https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/21067. Then, as requested in
https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/21067#issuecomment-2515469185,
it documents how to map a keybinding instead of having a setting.

Closes #13858

Release Notes:

- Added support for the popular
[vim_sneak](https://github.com/justinmk/vim-sneak) plugin. This is
disabled by default and can be enabled by binding a key to the `Sneak`
and `SneakBackward` operators.

vim: Fix clipping when navigating over inlay hints (#22813)
This fixes the issue described in this comment:
https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/22439#issuecomment-2563896422

inlay hints.

Disable inline completions in Vim normal mode (#22439)
This is harmful for user experience and at best requires a user setting.
This was committed as part of
https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/21739 however that change had
no relevant release notes and no relevant settings.

The issue #22343 shows how this can result in user experience
regression: deleting a text fragment can reinsert it back, and it's thus
unclear if the deletion has even worked. Maybe this can be reenabled in
some very restrictive setup, and put behind a setting, but it can't be
unconditional. Completions should activate when the user signals intent
of entering code - for example, if instead of `de` to delete a fragment,
I press `ce` to replace it, I would naturally expect inline completions
to show up.

Note: The linked PR added more code in vim crate to refresh inline
completions in normal mode. I'm keeping that code around in this commit,
so that this can be the minimal fix to the linked issue -- with the
assumption that maybe there's some way in the future to reenable this in
a subset of cases that don't result in confusing / broken UX. If that is
not true the code might need further cleanup. Let me know if you'd
rather see removal of those changes in this PR as well.

Closes #22343.

vim: Maintain block cursor for navigating/non-modifying operators (#21502)
The cursor shape now only changes to underline for operators that modify
text (like: delete, change, yank) while maintaining block shape for
navigation operators (like: find, till).

This better matches Vim/Nvim's behavior where the cursor only changes
shape when an operator that will modify text is pending.

Add support for resizing panes using vim motions (#21038)
Closes #8628

Release Notes:

- Added support for resizing the current pane using vim keybinds with
the intention to follow the functionality of vim
  - "ctrl-w +" to make a pane taller
  - "ctrl-w -" to make the pane shorter
  - "ctrl-w >" to make a pane wider
  - "ctrl-w <" to make the pane narrower
- Changed vim pre_count and post_count to globals to allow for other
crates to use the vim count. In this case, it allows for resizing by
more than one unit. For example, "10 ctrl-w -" will decrease the height
of the pane 10 times more than "ctrl-w -"
- This pr does **not** add keybinds for making all panes in an axis
equal size and does **not** add support for resizing docks. This is
mentioned because these could be implied by the original issue

Standardize on CursorShape::Underline not Underscore (#19028)
Currently terminal.cursor_shape uses `underline` and `cursor_shape` uses
`underscore`.
This standardizes them so they use the same settings value.

I think `underline` is the more common term and it matches the
terminology used by VSCode, Alacritty, iTerm, etc.

Note the protobuf enum `CursorShape::CursorUnderscore` remains
unchanged.

vim: Don't show inline completions in normal mode (#17137)
This fixes an annoying bug I ran into, where supermaven completions
would show up in normal mode.

cc @ConradIrwin not sure if this is the best way to fix this, but it
seems like the neatest? On one hand, I didn't want to touch into Vim
from the editor, and on the other I didn't want to add another boolean
on the editor that flips on when in normal mode. So instead I extended
the Addon interface.

vim: Improve lifecycle (#16477)
Closes #13579

A major painpoint in the Vim crate has been life-cycle management. We
used to have one global Vim instance that tried to track per-editor
state; this led to a number of subtle issues (e.g. #13579, the mode
indicator being global, and quick toggling between windows letting vim
mode's notion of the active editor get out of sync).

This PR changes the internal structure of the code so that there is now
one `Vim` instance per `Editor` (stored as an `Addon`); and the global
stuff is separated out. This fixes the above problems, and tidies up a
bunch of the mess in the codebase.

Add Vim digraphs (#14887)
Vim digraphs are a way to insert special characters using sequences of
two ASCII characters. I've implemented the feature using a new `Digraph`
operator, following the example of `AddSurrounds`. There are still a few
issues that I'm not sure what the best way to resolve them is.

- To insert `ş`, the user must pause between pressing `ctrl-k` and `s
,`, otherwise it triggers the binding for `ctrl-k s`. Is there a way to
disable `ctrl-k *` bindings while in insert, replace or waiting mode?
- Is there a better way to insert a string at all of the cursors? At the
moment I'm constructing the edits manually.
- The table of default digraphs is a 1.4k line rust expression. Is this
okay as long as it's in its own module?
- I'd like a second opinion on how best to structure the settings.json
entry.
- I have omitted the "meta character" feature as I don't think it makes
sense when editing UTF-8 text.

Release Notes:

- Added support for Vim digraphs.

vim: Add motion support for toggle comments (#14919)
### Summary

This PR adds support for count and object motions to the toggle comments
action in Vim mode. The relevant issue is
[#14337](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/14337).

For example, `2 g c j` will toggle comments three lines downward. `g c g
g` will toggle comments from the current cursor position up to the start
of the file.

Notably missing from this PR are `g c b` (toggle comments for the
current block) as well as `g c p` (toggle comments for the current
paragraph). These seem to be non-standard.

The new module `normal/toggle_comments.rs` has been copied almost
verbatim from `normal/indent.rs`. Maybe that ought to be abstracted over
but I feel I lack the overview.

Release Notes:

- vim: Added support for count and object motion to the toggle comments
action ([#14337](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/14337)).

Refactor key dispatch (#14942)
Simplify key dispatch code.

Previously we would maintain a cache of key matchers for each context
that
would store the pending input. For the last while we've also stored the
typed prefix on the window. This is redundant, we only need one copy, so
now
it's just stored on the window, which lets us avoid the boilerplate of
keeping
all the matchers in sync.

This stops us from losing multikey bindings when the context on a node
changes
(#11009) (though we still interrupt multikey bindings if the focus
changes).

While in the code, I fixed up a few other things with multi-key bindings
that
were causing problems:

Previously we assumed that all multi-key bindings took precedence over
any
single-key binding, now this is done such that if a user binds a
single-key
binding, it will take precedence over all system-defined multi-key
bindings
(irrespective of the depth in the context tree). This was a common cause
of
confusion for new users trying to bind to `cmd-k` or `ctrl-w` in vim
mode
(#13543).

Previously after a pending multi-key keystroke failed to match, we would
drop
the prefix if it was an input event. Now we correctly replay it
(#14725).

Release Notes:

- Fixed multi-key shortcuts not working across completion menu changes
([#11009](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/11009))
- Fixed multi-key shortcuts discarding earlier input
([#14445](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/14445))
- vim: Fixed `jk` binding preventing you from repeating `j`
([#14725](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/14725))
- vim: Fixed `escape` in normal mode to also clear the selected
register.
- Fixed key maps so user-defined mappings take precedence over builtin
multi-key mappings
([#13543](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/13543))
- Fixed a bug where overridden shortcuts would still show in the Command
Palette

At present, we don't trigger the method `start_recording(cx)` to start
recording when typing add_surround, so it can't be repeated well, delete
and change actually don't increase, but when entering `d` and `c`, it
happens that these two operations are recorded, I think maybe we also
need to call `start_recording(cx)` when calling delete_surround and
change_surround, otherwise when the user modifies their shortcuts, these
two functions may not be supported by repeat
