gpui: Add a standard text example (#30747)
This is a dumb first pass at a standard text example. We'll use this to
start digging in to some text/scale rendering issues.

There will be a ton of follow-up features to this, but starting simple.

project_settings: Fix default settings values for DiagnosticsSettings (#30686)
Follow-up to #30565

This PR fixes the default settings values for the `DiagnosticsSettings`.
The issue here was that due to the `#[derive(Default)]`, `button` would
be false by default, which unintentionally hid the diagnostics button by
default. The `#[serde(default = `default_true`)]` would only apply iff
the diagnostics key was already present in the user's settings. Thus, if
you have

```json
{
    "diagnostics": {...}
}
```

in your settings, the button would show (given it was not disabled).
However, if the key was not present, the button was not shown: Due to
the derived default for the entire struct, the value would be false.

This PR fixes this by implementing the default instead and moving the
`#[serde(default)]` up to the level of the struct.
I also did the same for the inline diagnostics settings, which already
had a default impl and thus only needed the serde default on the struct
instead of on all the struct fields.

Lastly, I simplified the title bar settings, since the serde attributes
previously had no effect anyway (deserialization happened in the
`TitlebarSettingsContent`, so these attributes had no effect) and we can
remove the `TitlebarSettingsContent` as well as the attributes if we
implement a proper default implementation instead.

Release Notes:

- Fixed the diagnostics status bar button being hidden by default.

title_bar: Ensure git onboarding banner dismissal is properly respected (#28147)
A user reported this issue [on
Discord](https://discord.com/channels/869392257814519848/873292398204170290/1357879959422636185).

The issue here only arises for users which recently installed Zed or had
previously not dismissed the Git Onboarding component. It was introduced
by https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/27412, which made the
banner component reusable.

For every banner, there is a value stored in the KVP store when it was
first dismissed. For the git onboarding banner, this was
`zed_git_banner_dismissed_at` initially, but this key would have been
changed by the linked PR. A change would have resulted in the banner
being shown again for users who already dismissed the panel, so for the
special case of `Git Onboarding`, a check was added which ensured this
would not happen.

However, this check was only added for reading from the key from the DB
but not on writing the git onboarding dismissal it to the DB. Thus, if a
user who had not previously dismissed the panel opened Zed, we would
check for the old key to be present in the DB. Since that would not be
the case, the banner would be shown. If the user dismissed the panel, it
would be stored in the database with the new key. Thus, on a reopen of
Zed, the banner would again be shown since for the old key there would
still be no value present and users are unable to dismiss the panel.

This PR fixes this behavior by moving the check into the method that
generates the key. With this, users which were unaffected by the bug
will still not see the panel again. Users who would install Zed with
this change present will be able to properly dismiss the panel aswell.
Users which were affected by the bug need to dismiss the banner one more
time. That happens because I did not want to modify the dismissal check
to check for two keys (the original one and the new one), as it would
clutter the logic even more for this special case. If this would be
preferred, feel free to let me know.

Release Notes:

- Fixed an issue where dismissing the git onboarding banner would not be
persisted across sessions.

Add workspace-hack (#27277)
This adds a "workspace-hack" crate, see
[mozilla's](https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/3a265fdc9f33e5946f0ca0a04af73acd7e6d1a39/build/workspace-hack/Cargo.toml#l7)
for a concise explanation of why this is useful. For us in practice this
means that if I were to run all the tests (`cargo nextest r
--workspace`) and then `cargo r`, all the deps from the previous cargo
command will be reused. Before this PR it would rebuild many deps due to
resolving different sets of features for them. For me this frequently
caused long rebuilds when things "should" already be cached.

To avoid manually maintaining our workspace-hack crate, we will use
[cargo hakari](https://docs.rs/cargo-hakari) to update the build files
when there's a necessary change. I've added a step to CI that checks
whether the workspace-hack crate is up to date, and instructs you to
re-run `script/update-workspace-hack` when it fails.

Finally, to make sure that people can still depend on crates in our
workspace without pulling in all the workspace deps, we use a `[patch]`
section following [hakari's
instructions](https://docs.rs/cargo-hakari/0.9.36/cargo_hakari/patch_directive/index.html)

One possible followup task would be making guppy use our
`rust-toolchain.toml` instead of having to duplicate that list in its
config, I opened an issue for that upstream: guppy-rs/guppy#481.

TODO:
- [x] Fix the extension test failure
- [x] Ensure the dev dependencies aren't being unified by Hakari into

This is a pure refactoring PR that goes through all the git-related APIs

Remove worktree and project notifies (#26244)
This reduces the number of multibuffer syncs from 100,000 to 20,000.
Before this change each editor individually observed the project, so
literally any project change was amplified by the number of editors you

Now editors listen to their buffers instead of the project, and other
users of `cx.observe` on the project have been updated to use specific
events to reduce churn.

title_bar: Allow deafening audio without microphone permission (#24761)
The deafen audio button wasn't visible in the titlebar unless you had
the 'use microphone permission'. Meaning if I would join a call, and
didn't receive permission to speak, I wouldn't be able to use the deafen
audio button.

Now the button is directly visible when you join a call. So you can
deafen the audio even if you didn't receive the mic permission.

title_bar: Hide screen share when user doesn't have the permission (#25192)
On macos:
- user has the required permission to screen share.
- user doesn't have the can_use_microphone permission

When an user doesn't have the can_use_microphone permission the screen
share icon would be visible. If an user therefor would click on it, we
would give the error that they don't have the permission given to zed to
screen share. (which is false).

I've tested this together with @JosephTLyons because we first thought it
was a mac os permission issue.

Should we mention in the zed.dev/docs/collaboration what kind of
permissions are needed to be able to screen share?

Release Notes:

- Fixed: Screen sharing would be visible even when user didn't have the
right permission resulting in errors later on.

file_finder: Remove common segments of long paths in search results (#25049)
This PR makes progress on #7711 by identifying any common prefix of the
paths in the file finder's search results, and replacing the "interior"
of that prefix---every path segment but the first and last---with `...`,
when a heuristic indicates that the longest path would otherwise
overflow the modal.

The elision is not applied to any segment that contains a match for the
search query.

There may be more work to do on #7711 in the case of long result paths
that do not share a significant common prefix.

Release Notes:

- Improved display of long paths in the file finder modal

Fix hover tooltips appearing after related element is pressed (#24540)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/23894

Reworks all trigger declarations from
`.trigger(element.tooltip(tooltip))` into
`.trigger_with_tooltip(element, tooltip)` , with new API disallowing
simultaneous trigger and tooltip display.

All existing `.trigger(` calls were replaced, except 2 not applicable
(in dock.rs and pane.rs), 15 left as ones without tooltips, and 2
unchanged places in `inline_completion_button.rs`, where

0f7bb2e9fd/crates/inline_completion_button/src/inline_completion_button.rs (L311-L319)

`with_animation` does not allow us to simply use the same approach.

- Fixed hover tooltips appearing after related element is pressed
