VSCode Settings import (#29018)
Things this doesn't currently handle:

- [x] ~testing~
- ~we really need an snapshot test that takes a vscode settings file
with all options that we support, and verifies the zed settings file you
get from importing it, both from an empty starting file or one with lots
of conflicts. that way we can open said vscode settings file in vscode
to ensure that those options all still exist in the future.~
- Discussed this, we don't think this will meaningfully protect us from
future failures, and we will just do this as a manual validation step
before merging this PR. Any imports that have meaningfully complex
translation steps should still be tested.
- [x] confirmation (right now it just clobbers your settings file
silently)
- it'd be really cool if we could show a diff multibuffer of your
current settings with the result of the vscode import and let you pick
"hunks" to keep, but that's probably too much effort for this feature,
especially given that we expect most of the people using it to have an
empty/barebones zed config when they run the import.
- [x] ~UI in the "welcome" page~
- we're planning on redoing our welcome/walkthrough experience anyways,
but in the meantime it'd be nice to conditionally show a button there if
we see a user level vscode config
- we'll add it to the UI when we land the new walkthrough experience,
for now it'll be accessible through the action
- [ ] project-specific settings
- handling translation of `.vscode/settings.json` or `.code-workspace`
settings to `.zed/settings.json` will come in a future PR, along with UI
to prompt the user for those actions when opening a project with local
vscode settings for the first time
- [ ] extension settings
- we probably want to do a best-effort pass of popular extensions like
vim and git lens
- it's also possible to look for installed/enabled extensions with `code
--list-extensions`, but we'd have to maintain some sort of mapping of
those to our settings and/or extensions
- [ ] LSP settings
- these are tricky without access to the json schemas for various
language server extensions. we could probably manage to do translations
for a couple popular languages and avoid solving it in the general case.
- [ ] platform specific settings (`[macos].blah`)
  - this is blocked on #16392 which I'm hoping to address soon
- [ ] language specific settings (`[rust].foo`)
  - totally doable, just haven't gotten to it yet
 
~We may want to put this behind some kind of flag and/or not land it
until some of the above issues are addressed, given that we expect
people to only run this importer once there's an incentive to get it
right the first time. Maybe we land it alongside a keymap importer so
you don't have to go through separate imports for those?~

We are gonna land this as-is, all these unchecked items at the bottom
will be addressed in followup PRs, so maybe don't run the importer for
now if you have a large and complex VsCode settings file you'd like to
import.

Upgrade async-tungstenite to tokio (#26193)
We're seeing panics caused by a buggy implementation of AsyncWrite
that is being passed to rustls:

One hypothesis was that we're using (comparatively) non-standard async
tools for connecting over websockets; so this attempts to make us be
(comparitvely) more standard.

Add CredentialsProvider to silence keychain prompts in development (#25266)
This PR adds a new `CredentialsProvider` trait that abstracts over
interacting with the system keychain.

We had previously introduced a version of this scoped just to Zed auth
in https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/11505.

However, after landing https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/25123,
we now have a similar issue with the credentials for language model
providers that are also stored in the keychain (and thus also produce a
spam of popups when running a development build of Zed).

This PR takes the existing approach and makes it more generic, such that
we can use it everywhere that we need to read/store credentials in the
keychain.

There are still two credential provider implementations:

- `KeychainCredentialsProvider` will interact with the system keychain
(using the existing GPUI APIs)
- `DevelopmentCredentialsProvider` will use a local file on the file
system

We only use the `DevelopmentCredentialsProvider` when:

1. We are running a development build of Zed
2. The `ZED_DEVELOPMENT_AUTH` environment variable is set
- I am considering removing the need for this and making it the default,
but that will be explored in a follow-up PR.

Replace rustls-native-certs with rustls-platform-verifier (#24656)
closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/19620.

I am not 100% sure on how to test this though. @elithrar: would you mind
giving this branch a shot and seeing if it works for you? I kicked off
bundling for this pull request and you should be able to download a DMG
from the CI artifacts as soon as it's done building.

Rename model based variable names to entity (#24198)
## Context
While looking through the client crate, I noticed that some of the old
functions and variables were still using gpui::model name that was
deprecated during the gpui3 transition. This PR renames those instances
of model to entity to be more inline with gpui3.

In addition, I also renamed `model` to `entity` in cases found by the
below search terms given by @someone13574

- model = cx.
- model: Entity
- model: &Entity
- OpenedModelHandle
- model.update
- model.upgrade
- model = .*\.root (regex)
- parent_model
- model = cx.new
- cx.spawn(move |model

Eliminate GPUI View, ViewContext, and WindowContext types (#22632)
There's still a bit more work to do on this, but this PR is compiling
(with warnings) after eliminating the key types. When the tasks below
are complete, this will be the new narrative for GPUI:

- `Entity<T>` - This replaces `View<T>`/`Model<T>`. It represents a unit
of state, and if `T` implements `Render`, then `Entity<T>` implements
`Element`.
- `&mut App` This replaces `AppContext` and represents the app.
- `&mut Context<T>` This replaces `ModelContext` and derefs to `App`. It
is provided by the framework when updating an entity.
- `&mut Window` Broken out of `&mut WindowContext` which no longer
exists. Every method that once took `&mut WindowContext` now takes `&mut
Window, &mut App` and every method that took `&mut ViewContext<T>` now
takes `&mut Window, &mut Context<T>`

Not pictured here are the two other failed attempts. It's been quite a
month!

Use Instant not chrono for telemetry (#20756)
We occasionally see dates in the future appearing in our telemetry. One
hypothesis is that this is caused by a clock change while Zed is running
causing date math based on chrono to be incorrect.

Instant *should* be a more stable source of relative timestamps.

Add client::zed_urls module for constructing zed.dev URLs (#19391)
This PR adds a new `zed_urls` module to the `client` crate.

This module contains functions for constructing URLs to Zed properties,
such as zed.dev.

The URLs produced by this module will respect the server URL set via
settings or the `ZED_SERVER_URL` environment variable. This allows them
to correctly reflect the current environment (such as when testing Zed
against a local collab/zed.dev).

Replace isahc with async ureq (#18414)
REplace isahc with ureq everywhere gpui is used.

This should allow us to make http requests without libssl; and avoid a
long-tail of panics caused by ishac.

collab: Require github_user_created_at at ingress points (#17180)

Fix impersonation in local development (#16755)
This PR fixes impersonation in local development by fetching the user
from the GitHub API so we can get their `github_user_id`.

The `github_user_id` is now required after #16704.

Since this is just a development flow, we're fetching the user on the
client as opposed to making changes on the server.

This request uses the `GITHUB_TOKEN` environment variable for
authentication, if it exists, or will make an unauthenticated GitHub API
request.

Upgrade async-tungstenite to v17 and update usage accordingly (#15219)
This PR upgrades `async-tungstenite` to v17.0.3.

We previously attempted upgrading `async-tungstenite` in #15039, but
broke authentication with collab in the process.

Upon further investigation, I determined that the root cause is due to
this change in `tungstenite` v0.17.0:

> Overhaul of the client's request generation process. Now the users are
able to pass the constructed `http::Request` "as is" to
`tungstenite-rs`, letting the library to check the correctness of the
request and specifying their own headers (including its own key if
necessary). No changes for those ones who used the client in a normal
way by connecting using a URL/URI (most common use-case).

We _were_ relying on passing an `http::Request` directly to
`tungstenite`, meaning we did not benefit from the changes to the common
path (of passing a URL/URI).

This meant that—due to changes in `tungstenite`—we were now missing the
`Sec-WebSocket-Key` header that `tungstenite` would otherwise set for
us.

Since we were only passing a custom `http::Request` to set headers, our
approach has been adjusted to construct the initial WebSocket request
using `tungstenite`'s `IntoClientRequest::into_client_request` and then
modifying the request to set our additional desired headers.

Extract a BufferStore object from Project (#14037)
This is a ~small~ pure refactor that's a step toward SSH remoting. I've
extracted the Project's buffer state management into a smaller, separate
struct called `BufferStore`, currently in the same crate. I did this as
a separate PR to reduce conflicts between main and `remoting-over-ssh`.

The idea is to make use of this struct (and other smaller structs that
make up `Project`) in a dedicated, simpler `HeadlessProject` type that
we will use in the SSH server to model the remote end of a project. With
this approach, as we develop the headless project, we can avoid adding
more conditional logic to `Project` itself (which is already very
complex), and actually make `Project` a bit smaller by extracting out
helper objects.

paths: Replace lazy_static! with OnceLock (#13213)
This PR replaces the `lazy_static!` usages in the `paths` crate with
`OnceLock` from the standard library.

This allows us to drop the `lazy_static` dependency from this crate.

The paths are now exposed as accessor functions that reference a private
static value.
