Fix clippy::redundant_clone lint violations (#36558)
This removes around 900 unnecessary clones, ranging from cloning a few
ints all the way to large data structures and images.

A lot of these were fixed using `cargo clippy --fix --workspace
--all-targets`, however it often breaks other lints and needs to be run
again. This was then followed up with some manual fixing.

I understand this is a large diff, but all the changes are pretty
trivial. Rust is doing some heavy lifting here for us. Once I get it up
to speed with main, I'd appreciate this getting merged rather sooner
than later.

Add minidump crash reporting (#35263)

bedrock: Fix remaining streaming delays (#33931)
Closes #26030

*Note: This is my first contribution to Zed*

This addresses a second streaming bottleneck in Bedrock that remained
after the initial fix in #28281 (released in preview 194).

The issue is in the mechanism used to convert Zed's internal `AsyncBody`
into the `SdkBody` expected by the Bedrock language provider. We are
using a non-streaming converter that buffers responses.

**How the fix works:**
The AWS SDK provides streaming-compatible converters to create `SdkBody`
instances, but these require the input body to implement the `Body`
trait from the `http-body` crate.

This PR enables streaming by implementing the required trait and
switching to the streaming-compatible converter.

**Changes (2 commits):**

 * 1st Commit - **Implement http-body Body trait for AsyncBody:**
   - Add `http-body = 1.0` dependency (already an indirect dependency)
   - Implement the `Body` trait for our existing `AsyncBody` type
- Uses `poll_frame` to read data chunks asynchronously, preserving
streaming behavior

 * 2nd Commit - **Use streaming-compatible AWS SDK converter:**
- Create `SdkBody` using `SdkBody::from_body_1_x()` with the new `Body`
trait implementation

**Details/FAQ:**

**Q: Why add another dependency?**
A: We tried to avoid adding a dependency, but the AWS SDK requires the
`Body` trait and `http-body` is where it's defined. The crate is already
an indirect dependency, making this a reasonable solution.

**Q: Why modify the shared `http_client` crate instead of just
`aws_bedrock_client`?**
A: We considered implementing the `Body` trait on a wrapper in
`aws_bedrock_client`, but since `AsyncBody` already uses `http` crate
types, extending support to the companion `http-body` crate seems
reasonable and may benefit other integrations.

**Q: How was this bottleneck discovered?**
A: After @5herlocked's initial streaming fix in #28281, I tested preview
194 and noticed streaming still had issues. I found a way to reproduce
the problem and chatted with @5herlocked about it. He immediately
pinpointed the exact location where the issue was occurring, his
diagnosis made this fix possible.

**Q: How does this relate to the previous fix?**
A: #28281 fixed buffering issues higher in the stack, but unfortunately
there was another bottleneck lower-down in the aws-http-client. This PR
addresses that separate buffering issue.

**Q: Does this use zero-copy or one-copy?**
A: The `Body` implementation includes one copy. Someone more
knowledgeable might be able to achieve a zero-copy approach, but we
opted for a conservative approach. The performance impact should not be
perceptible in typical usage.

**Testing:**
Confirmed that Bedrock streaming now works without buffering delays in a
local build.

Add feature flag to use cloud.zed.dev instead of llm.zed.dev (#34076)
This PR adds a new `zed-cloud` feature flag that can be used to send
traffic to `cloud.zed.dev` instead of `llm.zed.dev`.

This is just so Zed staff can test the new infrastructure. When we're
ready for prime-time we'll reroute traffic on the server.

Use anyhow more idiomatically (#31052)
https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/30972 brought up another
case where our context is not enough to track the actual source of the
issue: we get a general top-level error without inner error.

The reason for this was `.ok_or_else(|| anyhow!("failed to read HEAD
SHA"))?; ` on the top level.

The PR finally reworks the way we use anyhow to reduce such issues (or
at least make it simpler to bubble them up later in a fix).
On top of that, uses a few more anyhow methods for better readability.

* `.ok_or_else(|| anyhow!("..."))`, `map_err` and other similar error
conversion/option reporting cases are replaced with `context` and
`with_context` calls
* in addition to that, various `anyhow!("failed to do ...")` are
stripped with `.context("Doing ...")` messages instead to remove the
parasitic `failed to` text
* `anyhow::ensure!` is used instead of `if ... { return Err(...); }`
calls
* `anyhow::bail!` is used instead of `return Err(anyhow!(...));`

Remove individual URL overrides for LLM service (#30290)
This PR removes the individual URL overrides for the LLM service.

We initially had `ZED_PREDICT_EDITS_URL` to allow for directing traffic
to the LLM Worker back when there was still the split of the
Collab-based LLM Service and the Cloudflare-based LLM Worker.

But now that all of the LLM functionality has been moved into the
Worker, we can just direct all traffic there.

reqwest_client: Only register proxies with valid proxy URIs (#27773)
Closes #27641

This PR fixes invalid proxy URIs being registered despite the URI not
being a valid proxy URI.

Whilst investigating #27641 , I noticed that currently any proxy URI
passed to `RequestClient::proxy_and_user_agent` will be assigned to the
created client, even if the URI is not a valid proxy URI. Given a test
as an example:

We create an URI here and pass it as a proxy to
`ReqwestClient::proxy_and_user_agent`:

In `ReqwestClient::proxy_and_user_agent`we take the proxy parameter here

, not considering at all whether the proxy was successfully created
above. Concluding, we currently do not actually check whether a proxy
was successfully created, but rather whether an URI is equal to itself,
which trivially holds. The existing test for a malformed proxy URI


9b40770e9f/crates/reqwest_client/src/reqwest_client.rs (L293-L297)

does not check whether invalid proxies cause an error, but rather checks
whether `http::Uri::from_static` panics on an invalid URI, [which it
does as
documented](https://docs.rs/http/latest/http/uri/struct.Uri.html#panics).
Thus, the tests currently do not really check anything proxy-related and
invalid proxies are assigned as valid proxies.

This PR fixes the behaviour by considering whether the proxy was
actually properly parsed and only assigning it if that is the case.
Furthermore, it improves logging in case of errors so issues like the
linked one are easier to debug (for the linked issue, the log will now
include that the proxy schema is not supported in the logs).
Lastly, it also updates the test for a malformed proxy URI. The test now
actually checks that malformed proxy URIs are not registered for the
client rather than testing the `http` crate.

The update also initially caused the [test for a `socks4a`
proxy](9b40770e9f/crates/reqwest_client/src/reqwest_client.rs (L280C1-L282C50))
to fail. This happened because the reqwest-library introduced supports
for `socks4a` proxies in [version
0.12.13](https://github.com/seanmonstar/reqwest/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#v01213).
Thus, this PR includes a bump of the reqwest library to add proper
support for socks4a proxies.

Add workspace-hack (#27277)
This adds a "workspace-hack" crate, see
[mozilla's](https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/3a265fdc9f33e5946f0ca0a04af73acd7e6d1a39/build/workspace-hack/Cargo.toml#l7)
for a concise explanation of why this is useful. For us in practice this
means that if I were to run all the tests (`cargo nextest r
--workspace`) and then `cargo r`, all the deps from the previous cargo
command will be reused. Before this PR it would rebuild many deps due to
resolving different sets of features for them. For me this frequently
caused long rebuilds when things "should" already be cached.

To avoid manually maintaining our workspace-hack crate, we will use
[cargo hakari](https://docs.rs/cargo-hakari) to update the build files
when there's a necessary change. I've added a step to CI that checks
whether the workspace-hack crate is up to date, and instructs you to
re-run `script/update-workspace-hack` when it fails.

Finally, to make sure that people can still depend on crates in our
workspace without pulling in all the workspace deps, we use a `[patch]`
section following [hakari's
instructions](https://docs.rs/cargo-hakari/0.9.36/cargo_hakari/patch_directive/index.html)

One possible followup task would be making guppy use our
`rust-toolchain.toml` instead of having to duplicate that list in its
config, I opened an issue for that upstream: guppy-rs/guppy#481.

Replace rustls-native-certs with rustls-platform-verifier (#24656)

Revert "Use livekit's Rust SDK instead of their swift SDK (#13343)" (#20809)
Issues found:

* audio does not work well with various set-ups using USB
* switching audio during initial join may leave the client with no audio
at all
* audio streaming is done on the main thread, beachballing certain
set-ups
* worse screenshare quality (seems that there's no dynamic scaling
anymore, compared to the Swift SDK)

assistant: Remove low_speed_timeout (#20681)
This removes the `low_speed_timeout` setting from all providers as a
response to issue #19509.

Reason being that the original `low_speed_timeout` was only as part of
#9913 because users wanted to _get rid of timeouts_. They wanted to bump
the default timeout from 5sec to a lot more.

Then, in the meantime, the meaning of `low_speed_timeout` changed in
#19055 and was changed to a normal `timeout`, which is a different thing
and breaks slower LLMs that don't reply with a complete response in the
configured timeout.

So we figured: let's remove the whole thing and replace it with a
default _connect_ timeout to make sure that we can connect to a server
in 10s, but then give the server as long as it wants to complete its
response.

Closes #19509

Release Notes:

- Removed the `low_speed_timeout` setting from LLM provider settings,
since it was only used to _increase_ the timeout to give LLMs more time,
but since we don't have any other use for it, we simply remove the
setting to give LLMs as long as they need.

Fix an issue with using non-reusable body types with redirects (#19134)

Closes #19039

fixes the broken auto-updater.

I had the bright idea of using streams as the most common unit of data
transfer. Unfortunately, streams are not re-usable. So HTTP redirects
that have a stream body (like our remote server and auto update
downloads), don't redirect, as they can't reuse the stream. This PR
fixes the problem and simplifies the AsyncBody implementation now that
we're not using Isahc.

Allow using system node (#18172)

Add an eval binary that evaluates our semantic index against CodeSearchNet (#17375)
This PR is the beginning of an evaluation framework for our AI features.
Right now, we're evaluating our semantic search feature against the
[CodeSearchNet](https://github.com/github/CodeSearchNet) code search
dataset. This dataset is very limited (for the most part, only 1 known
good search result per repo) but it has surfaced some problems with our
search already.

Introduce a separate backend service for LLM calls (#15831)
This PR introduces a separate backend service for making LLM calls.

It exposes an HTTP interface that can be called by Zed clients. To call
these endpoints, the client must provide a `Bearer` token. These tokens
are issued/refreshed by the collab service over RPC.

We're adding this in a backwards-compatible way. Right now the access
tokens can only be minted for Zed staff, and calling this separate LLM
service is behind the `llm-service` feature flag (which is not
automatically enabled for Zed staff).

windows: Fix eslint installation (#15331)
Close #13786. To make `eslint` running on Windows, I made the following
changes:

1. Ensure that `zed` downloads the `.zip` file.
2. Handle the `$shared` symbolic link by copying files to the link
location.
3. In #13891, I mentioned that the `npm` `post-install` script was
always failing. After debugging, I found it was due to missing
environment variables. This has been fixed, and I will submit a new PR
to address the changes in #13891.

With this PR, `eslint` can now successfully run on Windows. Video:

http_client: Replace build_tarball_url with a more extensible function (#15332)
This PR replaces the `build_tarball_url` with `build_asset_url` that
accepts an `AssetKind` enum to support downloading different kinds of
assets from GitHub.

Right now the only asset kind we support is still `.tar.gz`, but the new
structure is more amenable to adding more asset kinds.
