Fix clippy::redundant_clone lint violations (#36558)
This removes around 900 unnecessary clones, ranging from cloning a few
ints all the way to large data structures and images.

A lot of these were fixed using `cargo clippy --fix --workspace
--all-targets`, however it often breaks other lints and needs to be run
again. This was then followed up with some manual fixing.

I understand this is a large diff, but all the changes are pretty
trivial. Rust is doing some heavy lifting here for us. Once I get it up
to speed with main, I'd appreciate this getting merged rather sooner
than later.

editor: Improve code completion filtering to provide fewer and more accurate suggestions (#32928)
Closes #32756

- Uses `filter_text` from LSP source to filter items in completion list.
This fixes noisy lists like on typing `await` in Rust, it would suggest
`await.or`, `await.and`, etc., which are bad suggestions. Fallbacks to
label.
- Add `penalize_length` flag to fuzzy matcher, which was the default
behavior across. Now, this flag is set to `false` just for code
completion fuzzy matching. This fixes the case where if the query is
`unreac` and the completion items are `unreachable` and
`unreachable!()`, the item with a shorter length would have a larger
score than the other one, which is not right in the case of
auto-complete context. Now these two items will have the same fuzzy
score, and LSP `sort_text` will take over in finalizing its ranking.
- Updated test to be more utility based rather than example based. This
will help to iterate/verify logic faster on what's going on.

Validate actions in docs (#31073)
Adds a validation step to docs preprocessing so that actions referenced
in docs are checked against the list of all registered actions in GPUI.

In order for this to work properly, all of the crates that register
actions had to be importable by the `docs_preprocessor` crate and
actually used (see [this
comment](ec16e70336 (diff-2674caf14ae6d70752ea60c7061232393d84e7f61a52915ace089c30a797a1c3))
for why this is challenging).

In order to accomplish this I have moved the entry point of zed into a
separate stub file named `zed_main.rs` so that `main.rs` is importable
by the `docs_preprocessor` crate, this is kind of gross, but ensures
that all actions that are registered in the application are registered
when checking them in `docs_preprocessor`. An alternative solution
suggested by @mikayla-maki was to separate out all our `::init()`
functions into a lib entry point in the `zed` crate that can be imported
instead, however, this turned out to be a far bigger refactor and is in
my opinion better to do in a follow up PR with significant testing to
ensure no regressions in behavior occur.

Avoid unnecessary DB writes (#29417)
Part of https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/16472

* Adds debug logging to everywhere near INSERT/UPDATEs in the DB

So something like
`env RUST_LOG=debug,wasmtime_cranelift=off,cranelift_codegen=off,vte=off
cargo run` could be used to view these (current zlog seems to process
the exclusions odd, so not sure this is the optimal RUST_LOG line) can
be used to debug any further writes.

* Removes excessive window stack serialization

Previously, it serialized unconditionally every 100ms.
Now, only if the stack had changed, which is now check every 500ms.

* Removes excessive terminal serialization

Previously, it serialized its `cwd` on every `ItemEvent::UpdateTab`
which was caused by e.g. any character output.
Now, only if the `cwd` has changed at the next event processing time.

Release Notes:

- Fixed more excessive DB writes

Add workspace-hack (#27277)
This adds a "workspace-hack" crate, see
[mozilla's](https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/3a265fdc9f33e5946f0ca0a04af73acd7e6d1a39/build/workspace-hack/Cargo.toml#l7)
for a concise explanation of why this is useful. For us in practice this
means that if I were to run all the tests (`cargo nextest r
--workspace`) and then `cargo r`, all the deps from the previous cargo
command will be reused. Before this PR it would rebuild many deps due to
resolving different sets of features for them. For me this frequently
caused long rebuilds when things "should" already be cached.

To avoid manually maintaining our workspace-hack crate, we will use
[cargo hakari](https://docs.rs/cargo-hakari) to update the build files
when there's a necessary change. I've added a step to CI that checks
whether the workspace-hack crate is up to date, and instructs you to
re-run `script/update-workspace-hack` when it fails.

Finally, to make sure that people can still depend on crates in our
workspace without pulling in all the workspace deps, we use a `[patch]`
section following [hakari's
instructions](https://docs.rs/cargo-hakari/0.9.36/cargo_hakari/patch_directive/index.html)

One possible followup task would be making guppy use our
`rust-toolchain.toml` instead of having to duplicate that list in its
config, I opened an issue for that upstream: guppy-rs/guppy#481.

TODO:
- [x] Fix the extension test failure
- [x] Ensure the dev dependencies aren't being unified by Hakari into
the main dependencies
- [x] Ensure that the remote-server binary continues to not depend on
LibSSL

Add persistence to command palette history (#26948)
Closes #20391

### Summary
This adds a persistence layer to the command palette so that usages can
persist after Zed is closed and re-opened.

The current "usage" algorithm is unchanged, e.g.:
- Sorts by number of usages descending (no recency preference)
- Once a user's query is active, removes these suggestions in favor of
fuzzy matching

There are some additional considerations in order to keep the DB from
growing uncontrollably (and to make long-term use ergonomic):
- The "invocations" count handles max values (though at u16, it seems
unlikely a user will deal with this)
- If a command is un-invoked for more than a month, it stops being
considered a recent usage, and its next update will update its usages
back to 1

### Future Considerations
- Could make the "command expiry" configurable in settings, so the user
can decide how long to hold onto recent usages
- Could make a more sophisticated algorithm which balances recency and
total invocations - e.g. if I've used COMMAND_A 100 times in the last
month, but COMMAND_B 10 times today, should COMMAND_B actually be
preferred?
- Could do preferential fuzzy-matching against these matches once the
user starts a query.

Release Notes:

- Added persistent history of command palette usages.

Display case-sensitive keybindings for vim commands (#24322)
This Pull Request tackles the issue outline in #14287 by changing the
way `KeyBinding`s for vim mode are displayed in the command palette.
It's worth pointing out that this whole thing was pretty much
implemented by Conrad Irwin during a pairing session, I just tried to
clean up some other changes introduced for a different issue, while
improving some comments.

Here's a quick list of the changes introduced:

- Update `KeyBinding` with a new `vim_mode` field to determine whether
the keybinding should be displayed in vim mode.
- Update the way `KeyBinding` is rendered, so as to detect if the
keybinding is for vim mode, if it is, only display keys in uppercase if
they require the shift key.
- Introduce a new global state – `VimStyle(bool)` - use to determine
whether `vim_mode` should be enabled or disabled when creating a new
`KeyBinding` struct. This global state is automatically set by the `vim`
crate whenever vim mode is enabled or disabled.
- Since the app's context is now required when building a `KeyBinding` ,
update a lot of callers to correctly pass this context.

Eliminate GPUI View, ViewContext, and WindowContext types (#22632)
There's still a bit more work to do on this, but this PR is compiling
(with warnings) after eliminating the key types. When the tasks below
are complete, this will be the new narrative for GPUI:

- `Entity<T>` - This replaces `View<T>`/`Model<T>`. It represents a unit
of state, and if `T` implements `Render`, then `Entity<T>` implements
`Element`.
- `&mut App` This replaces `AppContext` and represents the app.
- `&mut Context<T>` This replaces `ModelContext` and derefs to `App`. It
is provided by the framework when updating an entity.
- `&mut Window` Broken out of `&mut WindowContext` which no longer
exists. Every method that once took `&mut WindowContext` now takes `&mut
Window, &mut App` and every method that took `&mut ViewContext<T>` now
takes `&mut Window, &mut Context<T>`

Not pictured here are the two other failed attempts. It's been quite a
month!

Tasks:

- [x] Remove `View`, `ViewContext`, `WindowContext` and thread through
`Window`
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Redraw window when entities change
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Get examples and Zed running

Load all key bindings that parse and use markdown in error notifications (#23113)
* Collects and reports all parse errors

* Shares parsed `KeyBindingContextPredicate` among the actions.

* Updates gpui keybinding and action parsing to return structured
errors.

* Renames "block" to "section" to match the docs, as types like
`KeymapSection` are shown in `json-language-server` hovers.

* Removes wrapping of `context` and `use_key_equivalents` fields so that
`json-language-server` auto-inserts `""` and `false` instead of `null`.

* Updates `add_to_cx` to take `&self`, so that the user keymap doesn't
get unnecessarily cloned.

In retrospect I wish I'd just switched to using TreeSitter to do the
parsing and provide proper diagnostics. This is tracked in #23333

`Cargo.toml` to inherit the lints from the workspace:

```toml
[lints]
workspace = true
```

This allows for configuring rust-analyzer to show Clippy lints in the
editor by using the following configuration in your Zed `settings.json`:

```json
{
  "lsp": {
    "rust-analyzer": {
      "initialization_options": {
        "check": {
          "command": "clippy"
        }
      }
    }
  }
```

Remove release channel from Zed URLs (#8863)
Also adds a new command `cli: Register Zed Scheme` that will cause URLs
to be opened in the current zed version, and we call this implicitly if
you install the CLI

Also add some status reporting to install cli

Fixes: #8857

Release Notes:

- Added success/error reporting to `cli: Install Cli`
([#8857](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/8857)).
- Removed `zed-{preview,nightly,dev}:` url schemes (used by channel
links)
- Added `cli: Register Zed Scheme` to control which zed handles the
`zed://` scheme (defaults to the most recently installed, or

Add command_palette_hooks crate (#8398)
This PR introduces a new `command_palette_hooks` crate that contains the
types used to hook into the behavior of the command palette.

The `CommandPaletteFilter` was previously extracted to the `copilot`
crate in #7095, solely because that was the earliest ancestor of the
crates that depended on it.

The `CommandPaletteInterceptor` was still defined in `command_palette`
itself.

Both of these types were consumed by other crates wanting to influence
the behavior of the command palette, but required taking a dependency on
the entire `command_palette` crate in order to gain access to these
hooks.

By moving them out into their own crate, we can improve the compile
order and make crates like `vim` able to begin building sooner without
having to wait for `command_palette` to finish compiling.

Here's a comparison of the compilation graph before and after (ignore
the timings):

chore: Extract languages from zed crate (#8270)
- Moves languages module from `zed` into a separate crate. That way we
have less of a long pole at the end of compilation.
- Removes moot dependencies on editor/picker. This is totally harmless
and might help in the future if we decide to decouple picker from
editor.

Before:
```
Number of crates that depend on 'picker' but not on 'editor': 1
Total number of crates that depend on 'picker': 13
Total number of crates that depend on 'editor': 30
```
After:
```
Number of crates that depend on 'picker' but not on 'editor': 5
Total number of crates that depend on 'picker': 12
Total number of crates that depend on 'editor': 26
```
The more crates depend on just picker but not editor, the better in that
case.

Vim: enable sending multiple keystrokes from custom keybinding (#7965)
Release Notes:

- Added `workspace::SendKeystrokes` to enable mapping from one key to a
sequence of others
([#7033](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/7033)).

Improves #7033. Big thank you to @ConradIrwin who did most of the heavy
lifting on this one.

This PR allows the user to send multiple keystrokes via custom
keybinding. For example, the following keybinding would go down four
lines and then right four characters.

```json
[
  {
    "context": "Editor && VimControl && !VimWaiting && !menu",
    "bindings": {
      "g z": [
        "workspace::SendKeystrokes",
        "j j j j l l l l"
      ],
    }
  }
]
```

Close modals and menus before dispathing actions (#7830)
Fixes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/7799 by forcing the

to do the same, to be uniform — context menu actions seem to work
properly after this change too.
